Firstborn : Traditionally was the main heir. In Colossians 1:15 "firstborn" does not mean Christ was created, because Paul says that all creation was made in and for Christ, and that He exists before all creation and holds it together (Colossians 1: 16-17). Paul is saying that Christ as God's son, is the main heir of all creation. (verses 12-14). Always read in context.

Begotten Son: Means unique one. Jesus repeated reference to himself as the son of man was not a claim of humanity, but reference to Daniel 7: 13-14, in which the Son of Man is seen as having universal authority and everlasting dominion and who receives the worship of all nations. In the Greek 'begotten son' means "unique one".

Matthew 26:53: "So you think I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legion of Angels." Legionnaire, says_ Leon Morris, in the Roman army was regarded as the best and most trustworthy of all Roman soldiers. A legion consisted of from 4,500 to 6,00 such soldiers.

Redeem: To rescue from sin and its penalties.

Propitiation: means the turning away of anger, usually by the offering of a gift.

Reconciliation: Making peace see (2 Corinthians 5: 19).

Remission: Dismissal or release, to be made free by the act of a pardon.

Redemption: Referred to the prisoners of war. A ransom price was paid and the prisoners were set free.

Ransom: Jesus himself said that he would be a ransom for many (Mark 10: 45).
