Write the verse on the board. Let a child erase one word. The entire class will read through the verse, including the word that is missing. Erase another word. Have the class read it or choose a student to say it. Continue the process until all the words are missing and the students "read" from their memory.
Memory Verse

Give each child heavy paper and a bright color crayon. Have them color the pages with the crayons. (They will need to make the page as dark as possible). Next, have them color over the page again with a black crayon. Finally, with a sharp point, such as the end of a paper clip, have them scrape-print the words of the verse on the paper so the bright color underneath will show through.
